3-20-2025 Evidence-Based Assistive Technologies for Empowering Learners in the 21st Century Classroom Live & Recorded Webinar 7-9 PM EST
Presenter: Mark Surabian
THURSDAY, MARCH 20, 2025 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST
Description:
Research shows that Assistive, Augmentative, and even Embodied Learning Technologies are essential tools for both educators and therapists to employ in their practices. This session will explore available technologies, the research behind them, and case studies that demonstrate how all students can more actively direct their own learning and communication. The U.S. Department of Education report on the “Myths and Facts Surrounding Assistive Technology Devices and Services” (2024), states we are still failing to respond with fidelity regarding student rights to assistive technologies. This session will provide a proactive approach that averts these failures by empowering the students themselves to be more actively involved in the exploration and consideration of such tools before they are even needed. Attendees will depart with resources for finding free and affordable tools which may be employed immediately for every grade.
