Description:

Decades of reading instruction have emphasized matching students to their reading level, resulting in heavy reliance on assessments, leveling systems, and instructional routines that prioritize ease over challenge. Research now tells a different story. This session examines why regular exposure to complex text is essential for reading growth and equips educators with practical strategies to guide students toward deeper comprehension, increased stamina, and stronger literacy outcomes. Dr. Timothy Shanahan is a renowned literacy educator, researcher, and education policy-maker known for his work on how reading and writing are best taught and learned. Join us at this webinar to take advantage of his expertise to help your students excel.
