His research has been highlighted in popular podcasts like \u003ci\u003eSold a Story \u003c\/i\u003eand documentary films such as \u003ci\u003eThe Truth About Reading. \u003c\/i\u003eDr. Burns is a Past Editor of \u003ci\u003eSchool Psychology Review \u003c\/i\u003eand \u003ci\u003eAssessment for Effective Intervention, \u003c\/i\u003eand is one of the leading researchers regarding the use of assessment data to determine individual or small-group interventions, and has published extensively on response to intervention, academic interventions, and facilitating problem-solving teams.
