Description
You may be among the many who are excited to attend Marianne Nice's popular webinar on assessing for dyslexia on November 18, 2019, called "Dyslexia Evaluations: The Assessments and the Signs." Maybe you've already attended that attendance record breaking session that was originally presented in 2018. Because many find making the dyslexia diagnosis to be such a complex issue, not only clinically and logistically, but also at times emotionally for parents and students, Marianne felt compelled to also offer a follow up to the initial Dyslexia Evaluations webinar. If you're not feeling confident assisting in the diagnosis and using the "D" word, this unique webinar, along with the November 18th webinar, is a must! The December 15th webinar, entitled "Dyslexia Evaluations Part 2: Extended Examples and Case Studies," will equip you with the practical information you need to delve further into providing the dyslexia diagnosis. In this informative, new session you will learn how the diagnosis is being made with actual real life students by various types of educators, often working together as a team. Although the case study examples shown are taken from educators and clinicians who are assessing and diagnosing students while working in public school settings, the information gathered in this session is applicable to those working in all settings including private settings. Marianne will review additional case studies of students, providing step-by-step information examining how the diagnosis was actually made. She will also share what tests were used, what other types of information had been gathered, and the resultant changes in instructional programming for these students. Other considerations, such as attention disorders, instructional history, and cognitive profiles, will be discussed. This session is appropriate for teachers, special educators, reading specialist, speech language pathologists, psychologists, administrators, advocates, parents, and anyone interested in gaining the necessary information to make the dyslexia diagnosis.
