Description:

Understanding how children think, feel, and respond to the world around them is at the heart of successful learning—and yet social thinking and emotional regulation remain some of the biggest challenges for elementary-age students. This seminar explores how social cognition develops, why certain students struggle, and how breakdowns in social understanding directly impact behavior, peer interactions, and classroom engagement. Attendees will gain a clearer picture of the “why” behind common social-emotional difficulties, helping them approach students with greater insight, empathy, and effectiveness.

In this practical, strategy-rich session, participants will learn evidence-based techniques to strengthen social awareness, perspective-taking, emotional flexibility, and coping skills within both structured lessons and natural routines. Whether you support students with ASD, ADHD, language delays, behavioral challenges, or simply want to build a stronger social-emotional foundation for your classroom, you’ll walk away with actionable tools you can use immediately. Join Maria Toth, MS, CCC-SLP during this informative webinar on 1/26/26 to deepen your understanding, elevate your practice, and make meaningful change in the lives of the children you serve.
