New Generation Lively Letters™ Hand & Mouth Cue Photo Cards
#NGHNDMO- These colored photo cards depict the hand and mouth cue prompts that are used for each of the associated letter sounds from the Lively Letters program. The program’s letter cards and instruction manual are sold separately. This product includes 48 sturdy, boxed 7” x 5” cards. Each photograph shows an educator clearly articulating the sound while using the hand / mouth cue. Also, reflecting the associated sound introduction story, the educator’s facial expression depicts the movement or emotion from that story. In addition, the plain letter is printed along with the Lively Letters label for each sound (ex. “Quiet Lip Biting Sound”).
- Educators can learn to more effectively use the appropriate program hand and mouth cues. These visual prompts, along with the program letter sound introduction stories and letter pictures, have been proven to help students correctly produce the associated sounds in isolation or in words during phonemic awareness, phonics, and speech production activities.
- The Lively Letters program greatly improves phonemic awareness, reading, spelling, and speech production skills in 6-8 weeks with engaging, multisensory methods and materials that are as powerful as they are fun for general ed. and struggling readers, including dyslexic and EL students. Aligned with the Science of Reading and published by Reading with TLC, it’s been used by over 80,000 educators and 15 million students worldwide since 1990.
- The program features colorful images, comical stories, mouth / hand cues (illustrated by this product), and music. Using powerful mnemonics (memory tricks), these images are directly embedded into the letters. Students who struggle to learn letter sounds or produce speech sounds correctly, or those learning English as a second language, are better able to articulate these sounds because of the mouth cues and the letter pictures of engaging characters that depict the correct mouth movements for the sounds.
- In addition to using these photo cards to help educators learn to use appropriate program hand and mouth cues, there are other uses of this versatile resource. Some educators have students name the associated sound just by looking at the hand / mouth cue photo. Others combine these photo cards with the associated Lively Letters letter cards to play the Match Game.
